About the position

Chevron is seeking Wells Engineering Interns for the 2026-2027 period. These internships involve working on actual projects with drilling or completions engineers and other functional groups within Chevron. The program may also include time spent on a drilling or well workover rig, or in a Decision Support Center. Typical internship projects include optimization studies, project look-back reviews, tool case studies, well design reviews, safety and environmental performance studies, and contractor analyses. Interns will be exposed to Chevron’s safety and technology culture, build relationships, and gain insights into career opportunities at Chevron. The cost to drill and complete wells varies significantly by location, with some costing an estimated \$250,000 and others up to \$150,000,000, offering diverse learning experiences about the oil and gas industry and Chevron's operational approach.

Responsibilities

Work on actual projects with drilling or completions engineers and other functional groups.
Potentially spend time on a drilling or well workover rig or in a Decision Support Center.
Contribute to projects such as optimization studies, project look-back reviews, tool case studies, well design reviews, safety and environmental performance studies, and contractor analyses.
Gain exposure to Chevron’s safety and technology culture.
Build relationships and gain exposure to career opportunities at Chevron.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong academic performance in core programs.
Possess strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Position may require driving on a routine basis.
