Physical Therapist / PTA - Telehealth Intake (Remote)

Physical Therapist / PTA – Telehealth Patient Intake & Education (Remote / Work from Home)

Location: Remote (Must reside in CA or hold an active California PT/PTA license)

Job Type: Part-Time / Per Diem (W-2) (~10+ hours/week)

Compensation: $30.00 / hour (Base) + Uncapped Performance Incentives (Target Total: $45.00 – $60.00 / hour)

About the Role

Are you a licensed California Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who excels at pelvic floor rehabilitation, patient education, empathetic listening, and connection, but wants a break from heavy hands-on patient treatment?

Pelvic Path Physical Therapy is seeking an articulate, warm, and professional Remote PT or PTA to conduct virtual Discovery & Intake Calls for prospective patients. Serving as the trusted first point of contact, you will provide clinical education, explain our specialized care model, address patient hesitations, and guide prospective patients to schedule their comprehensive 1-on-1 evaluations with our in-person clinical team.

Why Join Our Remote Team?

  • 100% Work from Home: Work remotely with flexible scheduling (~10+ hours/week).

  • Warm Inbound Leads: Zero cold calling—discovery consultations are pre-booked directly onto your calendar.

  • Autonomy & Training: Complete onboarding and call frameworks provided, with total freedom to bring your authentic clinical voice to every conversation (no robotic scripts).

  • Competitive Earning Potential: $30.00/hr base rate + uncapped performance commission ($45.00 – $60.00/hr total target earnings).

  • Career Advancement: Potential to expand your role as our boutique practice continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Virtual Discovery Calls: Host pre-scheduled, non-diagnostic consultations with prospective patients to discuss how pelvic health physical therapy can address their concerns.

  • Patient Education & Triage: Provide high-level clinical education on pelvic floor health (pregnancy, postpartum, bowel/bladder, pelvic pain, post-surgical care) while maintaining scope-of-practice boundaries.

  • Lead Engagement & Re-engagement: Reconnect with past inquiries and warm leads via phone, email, and text to help them commit to starting care.

  • Documentation & Coordination: Log accurate call notes, patient goals, and intake details in our EMR/CRM platforms to ensure a seamless handoff to evaluating clinicians.

Scope of Practice & Clinical Boundaries

  • Non-Diagnostic Focus: This role is dedicated strictly to patient education, intake navigation, and care access. Intake staff do not perform clinical diagnostics or prescribe treatment plans. All diagnostic evaluations are conducted by our evaluating in-clinic Physical Therapists.

  • Licensure Supervision: PTAs operating in this role work under the direction and supervision of a licensed California Physical Therapist in full compliance with Physical Therapy Board of California guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California (Required).

  • Clinical Comfort: Must have experience in treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction (bowel/bladder, pelvic pain, pregnancy/postpartum, sexual wellness) with empathy and professional discretion.

  • Consultative Communication: Strong interpersonal and active listening skills with the ability to build immediate trust and help hesitant callers take the next step in their care.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with EMR systems, CRM platforms, online scheduling software, and Google Workspace.

  • Availability: ~10+ hours/week with room for growth and flexible block scheduling (occasional evening availability preferred based on booking trends).
