The next, you could be packaging individual items for shipping to existing shops, cleaning and organizing the warehouse, or helping prep millwork and materials for finishing.<br><br>If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy working with your hands, and tackling unique projects, you’ll fit right in. Our warehouse team keeps things moving behind the scenes and plays a huge role in helping our shops succeed.<br><br>This isn’t a sit-at-a-desk-all-day kind of job. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, physical work where teamwork, organization, and problem-solving matter. If you like variety, staying busy, and seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll probably love it here.<br><br><strong>FOCUS<br><br></strong><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Pulls and distributes materials, artifacts, or other stock items to fill orders.</li><li>Prepares and packages goods for shipping.</li><li>Maintains accurate inventory records using inventory software.</li><li>Receives goods and enters all items into inventory.</li><li>Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.</li><li>Loads trucks with goods, makes deliveries, and picks up material from local vendors.</li><li>Keeps the warehouse clean and organized.</li><li>Assists carpenters and painters with prepping material for finishing.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Essential Physical Functions<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be able to work overtime when needed.</li><li>Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate, and key in data.</li><li>Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.</li><li>Ability to stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day and sit for 1-2 hours per day.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently.</li><li>Must be able to communicate through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience, Education And Behaviors<br><br></strong><ul><li>Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.</li><li>Experience operating a forklift required.</li><li>Must represent The Potbelly Way.</li><li>Minimum high school degree.</li><li>Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.</li><li>Must have valid driver’s license.</li><li>Must be very neat and organized.</li><li>Must be familiar with and comfortable with using basic hand and power tools.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.</li><li>Must demonstrate leadership behaviors and values that align with Potbelly.<br><br></li></ul>Potbelly Sandwich Works may use artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted tools as part of its hiring and recruitment process.
