Role Title: Work based learning Practitioner - Carpentry and Joinery

Location: Deeside

Contract Type: Permanent: Full time

Salary: £33,912 - £38,218

We currently have a vacancy for a Work-based learning Practitioner in Carpentry and Joinery.

The Practitioner will assess against the full range of qualifications in Carpentry and Joinery, and have previous experience working in this industry.

This role is Welsh essential, therefore the successful candidate will be willing to learn Welsh through a tailored professional development plan provided by the college.

What you will do

• Work with a caseload of learners and conduct a Training needs analysis.

• Enrol the learners on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities.

• Deliver underpinning knowledge sessions to learners either on a 1-1 or workshop basis (recommended maximum group size 8)

• Monitor learners’ progress towards qualifications, give them constructive feedback, and guide them in preparing an e-portfolio of evidence.

• Assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal quality assurance.

Must haves

• A professionally relevant qualification at minimum of Level 3 or equivalent

• Possess or be willing to work towards an assessor qualification (TAQA)

• Possess or be willing to work towards a Quality Assurance qualification (Currently 401 TAQA Unit).

• Level 2 English/Welsh and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above

• Possess or be willing to work towards a Digital Literacy Level 2 qualification

• Experience in liaising and partnering with external managers in the industry

• Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met

• Able to demonstrate personal resilience to cope with a range of difficult situations

• Able to demonstrate a commitment to the maintenance and development of quality standards within education

• Be a Welsh speaker or willing to learn Welsh through a supported development plan

Welsh skills are essential for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
