Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs and preferences
• Provide detailed product demonstrations and educate customers on different strains, edibles, concentrates, and accessories
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Maintain accurate cash register operations, handle cash drawer balancing, and ensure secure cash handling procedures
• Upsell products by highlighting new items, promotions, or complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented according to merchandising standards
• Conduct product demos when appropriate and answer customer questions with clear communication skills
• Follow all safety protocols, including verifying legal age requirements and adhering to local regulations regarding cannabis sales
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Maintain excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries from customers or vendors

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in a customer-focused environment such as retail or hospitality
• Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the store
• Strong communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for sales transactions and inventory counts
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor and phone etiquette
• Experience conducting product demos or upselling is advantageous
• Must be at least the legal age for cannabis sales in your jurisdiction; valid identification required
