Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM Functional Consultant with strong Utilities industry experience to support a large utility client in the Dallas area.

The consultant will play a key role in the end-to-end delivery of Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM solutions, partnering directly with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand operational requirements, facilitate workshops, develop functional designs, configure Oracle SCM functionality, and support implementation and integration activities.

This position requires someone who can operate at both the functional leadership and hands-on configuration levels. The ideal candidate will understand the unique supply chain requirements of a utility environment, including materials and spare-parts management, procurement, field inventory, and integrations with other utility enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing discovery sessions, requirements-gathering workshops, process-design discussions, and solution walkthroughs with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Assess current-state processes and translate business requirements into scalable Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM solutions.
  • Develop detailed Functional Design Documents (FDDs), functional specifications, process flows, test scenarios/scripts, and user documentation.
  • Perform hands-on configuration across Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM modules, including Procurement, Inventory Management, Order Management, Product Hub, and Sourcing/Contracts.
  • Configure solutions to support utility-specific SCM processes such as spare-parts management, field inventory, crew procurement, materials management, and operational supply-chain activities.
  • Partner with technical and integration teams to define interfaces, data mappings, conversions, and integrations between Oracle SCM, Finance, and third-party utility applications.
  • Support integrations involving systems such as Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), GIS, MDM, and other utility platforms.
  • Support unit testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT, defect resolution, cutover, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and support ongoing functional enhancements.
  • Communicate solution decisions, risks, dependencies, and recommendations effectively to both client leadership and technical delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of ERP SCM functional experience, including at least 3+ years of hands-on Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM implementation experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring multiple Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM modules, particularly Procurement and Inventory Management, with additional experience in Order Management, Product Hub, Sourcing and/or Contracts.
  • Utility industry experience is required, with demonstrated understanding of supply-chain processes within an electric, gas, water, or other regulated utility environment.
  • Experience supporting utility-specific processes such as spare-parts/materials management, field inventory tracking, crew procurement, and operational supply-chain requirements.
  • Strong experience leading requirements workshops and functional design sessions with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and hands-on Oracle configurations.
  • Experience working with technical teams on integrations, interfaces, data conversion, and cross-functional Oracle solutions.
  • Understanding of Oracle SCM integration with Oracle Financials and third-party enterprise/utility applications.
  • Experience supporting the full implementation lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, UAT, cutover, go-live, and production support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business SMEs, technical teams, project leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as required by the engagement.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will bring the combination of Oracle Fusion SCM functional leadership + hands-on configuration + direct utility experience. This is not intended to be a purely strategic or technical role; the consultant must be comfortable leading client discussions while also getting into the application to configure, troubleshoot, test, and support the solution.
