This role involves the following activities, among others:

  • Interface and ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal environmental and safety regulations including permits and related issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security policies, plans, and procedures
  • Interface with various regulatory agencies while hosting, documenting, responding to and tracking audits, and inspections
  • Conduct training on general security, safety, fire hazards, and occupational incident prevention. Plan, develop, and implement safety and security training for new employee orientation, and recurrent programs. This to include working with management on an employee personal protective equipment program
  • Provide technical expertise company-wide on operations environmental design and safety procedures
  • Participate in investigations to determine root cause and prevention
  • Apply safety policies to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, dangers, and hazards
  • Develop and coordinate station emergency response procedures
  • Serve as Station Emergency Response Program lead
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report incidents. Review property, and injury reports
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a safety, and environmental policy, and objectives
  • Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in security and safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements

Local market-specific responsibilities (up to 30%):

  • Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety
  • Enforce and Maintain 5S: Sort, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety
  • Strong ability to analyze results, develop defensible conclusions and recommendations, and communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing (summaries, documents, reports, presentations)
  • Act as Liaison for Port Authority and TSA
  • Attend the training and maintain Lufthansa Security Trainer certification
  • Supports the Security general training needs
  • Maintains security records related to training for all staff at Lufthansa
  • Oversee the screening equipment (X-ray and ETD) are in working condition
  • May support Security training needs of XXX F/GC Stations
  • Review of Cargo Building Security Plan (EAA defined by Port Authority)
  • Conducts quarterly security self-audits
  • Resolves compliance findings from audits or government agencies
  • Oversees the security company to maintain screening & security compliance

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Expertise in manufacturing / industrial environment
  • Excellent skills of written and spoken English language
  • HAZWOPR 40hour certification desirable
  • Knowledge in OSHA 10, SERP desirable
  • Familiarity with 49 CFR, DOT HM181, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO45001 desirable
  • MS Office knowledge as user
