The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Region One is now hiring a Seasonal Transportation Technician I to support operations at our Ogden Maintenance Station. Position Information <ul><li> Salary Range: $22.44 - $24.79 (depends on experience) </li><li> Location: Ogden Maintenance Station, 1445 Wall Avenue, Ogden, UT 84044 </li><li> Position Type: Seasonal (Schedule TL - Time Limited, At Will). Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. </li></ul>What You'll Do As a Transportation Technician I, you will operate heavy equipment and perform specialized roadway maintenance, including: <ul><li> Snow and Ice Removal: Clear state roadways using snowplows, graders, blowers, and specialized heavy equipment. </li><li> Roadway Maintenance: Repair traffic signs, fences, guardrails, and other critical roadway features. </li><li> Equipment Operation: Safely operate, inspect, and maintain CDL-restricted vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment. </li><li> Emergency Response: Assist with urgent roadway issues and storm response as needed. </li></ul> Key Requirements <ul><li> Valid CDL: Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) upon hire. </li><li> Response Time: Ability to respond to the Ogden Maintenance Station within 30 minutes. </li><li> Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, be on-call, and respond promptly during severe weather and winter storms. </li><li> Physical Capability: Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions. </li><li> Mindset: Dependable, motivated team player who prioritizes safety and takes pride in public service. </li></ul>Preferred Experience <ul><li> Previous UDOT, heavy roadway maintenance, or highway construction experience. </li><li> Heavy equipment and CDL vehicle operation. </li><li> Commercial snow removal and winter driving operations. </li></ul> Why You Should Join Our Team A Mission That Matters – At the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), our mission is to “Enhance quality of life through transportation."
