Surface Transportation org is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Maintenance business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world-class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business. This Senior Vendor Performance Manager will be responsible for defining the vision, roadmap and driving program execution of our Maintenance business. This will be achieved through deep supply chain understanding, working backwards from customer requirements, negotiations with vendors and 3rd-party logistics providers, and internal alignment with Finance and Capital Planning stakeholders. The role involves day-to-day interaction with senior Amazon leaders as internal customers, understanding their needs and converting them into efficient business models. The role requires regular interactions with multiple teams and jointly working with them to meet both short-term and long-term business needs. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution. Up to 25% travel for this role Key job responsibilities <ul><li> Senior Vendor Performance Manager for vendor maintenance team, managing performance of vendors. (KPIs, SLA, etc.)</li><li> Work with external vendors and set expectations, raising the bar on operational performance. Vendor Management is about 50-60% of role.</li><li> Source, define, build and manage the Maintenance business.</li><li> Define a vision for how this program will work and cost.</li><li> Write whitepapers to gain initial buy-in and alignment as well as provide status updates as the project completes critical milestones and time intervals.</li><li> Identify key performance metrics and create a reporting suite that allows for program management when the program is fully scaled.</li><li> Define short-term, mid-term, and long-term timelines and project phases.</li><li> Lead supply chain risk mitigation activities and correct vendor performance issues.</li><li> Present supply chain strategies and program business reviews to Operations and Finance leaders.</li><li> Work with Operations, Engineering, and suppliers to minimize space required to hold sufficient inventory to keep the business running smoothly. This includes adjusting replenishment cadence, min/max holding levels, etc.</li><li> Lead cost reduction initiatives to ensure the lowest possible total cost.</li><li> Lead strategic initiatives and create mechanisms to measure performance and streamline processes across all vendors. </li></ul>Basic Qualifications <ul><li> 5+ years of program or project management experience</li><li> Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements</li><li> Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership</li><li> Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)</li><li> 1+ years of vendor management experience</li><li> Vendor management experience </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li> 2+ years of driving process improvements experience</li><li> Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field </li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
