FresnoHOP is seeking friendly, customer-focused temporary Trolley Operators for flexible, gig-style work that can be on-call or prescheduled to support operations and fill in for permanent staff. As a Temporary Trolley Operator, you will help ensure each ride is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for passengers. Duties include, but are not limited to: <div style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;"><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-left: 0in;"><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Delivering excellent customer service;</li><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Operating a transit trolley bus and ensuring the safe and timely transportation of passengers;</li><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Providing route, schedule and point of interest information; </li><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Performing pre- and post-trip inspections; and</li><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Fueling as needed</li><li style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;">Special events to promote services</li></ul></div> FresnoHOP showcases some of Fresno's top destinations. Our trolleys connect Fresno State and Campus Pointe to key areas, including the Brewery District, Cultural Arts District, and Tower District. We also provide transportation for special events and charters, offering a fun and unique way for groups to experience Fresno. We are looking for reliable individuals with strong communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and a focus on safety. Incumbents may be assigned to work any shit, including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The salary listed is for full-time positions; actual pay is based on the hourly rate and will depend on the number of hours worked. Temporary employees do not participate in the City’s pension system and are not eligible for City-sponsored benefits. THE REQUIREMENTSEducation: High School diploma, or GED equivalent. Experience: Three (3) years of licensed experience in the operation of motor vehicles and two (2) years of work experience involving direct public contact similar to that gained in retail sales, public service setting, or closely related field. Special Requirement(s): Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Class B Driver’s License with passenger endorsement is required at the time of application. A CURRENT (issued within the past 30 days) COPY OF YOUR COMPLETE DRIVING RECORD FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES MUST BE UPLOADED TO YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION AT TIME OF APPLICATION. Federal law requires that applicants for positions involving the operation of certain transit vehicles, revenue service vehicles, the transportation of hazardous materials, or heavy equipment over 26,001 pounds requiring a commercial driver's license must undergo pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment.
