On our team, you’ll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of. 3rd shift, Monday - Friday, 10:00pm - 6:30am As a Yard and Dock Coordinator you will serve as the primary point of contact for all dock-related activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of trailers in and out of the facility. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute daily dock activities while modeling accountability, operational discipline, and customer service excellence. What you’ll do on a typical day: <ul><li>Champion operation safety as well as support of hand tools and dock-related equipment, as required</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all loading and unloading dock activities, coordinating trailer movements to support daily operational priorities</li><li>Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow, applying knowledge of trailer anatomy and fleet safety standards</li><li>Monitor dock conditions and exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified; follow proper escalation procedures</li><li>Partner daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer-facing teams to prioritize multiple tasks and competing demands</li><li>Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a strong customer service mindset</li><li>Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines, safety standards, and site SWIs, seeing tasks through to completion</li><li>Support dock and yard organization in alignment with 7S workplace standards</li><li>Conduct regular visual inspections and maintain high observational awareness to identify risks, inefficiencies, or potential delays</li><li>Use Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite tools to track activity, communicate updates, and document issues</li><li>Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and Lead peers as needed </li></ul>What you need to succeed at GXO: At a minimum, you'll need: <ul><li>Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment</li><li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation</li><li>Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across varied terrain</li><li>Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to engage in daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions</li><li>Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications </li></ul>It'd be great if you also have: <ul><li>Previous experience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role</li><li>Exposure to safety programs, yard management systems (YMS), or WMS environments</li><li>Experience supporting or enforcing safe work practices and stop-work authority</li><li>Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with basic hand tools and dock equipment </li></ul>This job requires the ability to: <ul><li>Work extended time outdoors in varying weather conditions</li><li>Stand, walk, and traverse uneven surfaces throughout the shift </li><li>Maintain situational awareness in a high-traffic dock and yard environment</li><li>Support a flexible schedule as business needs require</li><li>Carry objects 3-5 feet weighing up to 50lbs, routinely</li><li>Stand for prolonged periods of time >4 hours</li><li>Walk continuously more than 10,000 steps (4-5) miles per day</li><li>Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull objects of various shapes and sizes in the team lift.</li><li>Tolerate hot and cold work environments</li><li>Ability to use powered and/or manual lifting equipment to assist with the team safety moving inventory in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines </li></ul>We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
