Business Office Clerk

The Business Office Clerk is responsible for the timely collection of accounts receivable from all payor sources, updating the accounting systems at the nursing facility and those which interface with the home office. Apply today and take the first step towards a rewarding career as a Business Office Clerk with us at a Villa Center.<br><br><strong>Business Office Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Complete Payer setup and changes for all residents.</li><li>Ensure that Medicaid applications are completed by coordinating with Admissions Department and family.</li><li>Complete RFMS Authorizations for new Medicaid/Medicaid Pending Residents. Open RFMS Account if necessary.</li><li>Apply representative payee for social security and/or change of address.</li><li>Verify responsible party in PointClickCare has a complete address and phone number for statements and collection calls upon admission.</li><li>Update Corporate Office on all Medicaid changes including admissions, discharges, payer changes, and income changes.</li><li>Rerun Medicare and Medicaid eligibility monthly for all residents.</li><li>Make weekly collection calls to families for private pay, resident liabilities and any other outstanding accounts.</li><li>Make notes in the resident file under Collections Tab to track progress.</li><li>Complete Medicaid Redeterminations.</li><li>Complete Managed Medicaid Re-Authorizations.</li><li>Complete Medicaid Pending Report.</li><li>Attend Medicare Meeting.</li><li>Run Current Eligibility and Review for All Medicare Residents to ensure Coverage/Days.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Business Office Clerk Skills and Abilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Basic systems processing.</li><li>Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.</li><li>Good organizational and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.</li><li>Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.</li><li>Basic understanding of Medicare and Medicaid claims processing preferred.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Business Office Clerk Education and Experience:<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.</li><li>Basic accounting or bookkeeping courses or experience preferred.</li><li>Experience working in a skilled nursing facility preferred.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Requirements: <br><br></strong><ul><li>Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required. </li><li>Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
