<br><br>What We Offer<br><br><ul><li>Compensation: $19/hr. </li><li>Paid Time Off: Enjoy paid vacation days, holidays, and personal time, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.</li><li>Health Insurance: Comprehensive health coverage to keep you and your family protected.</li><li>Medical Benefits: Access to a range of medical plans to suit your individual needs.</li><li>Vision Coverage: Eye care benefits to support your overall well-being.</li><li>401(k) Retirement Savings: Plan for your future with our 401(k) program and employer contributions.<br><br></li></ul><strong><u>Primary Responsibilities<br><br></u></strong><ul><li>Work as part of a collaborative team, supporting fellow employees and taking directions from management to achieve project goals.</li><li>Maintain a safe work environment by adhering strictly to all safety policies, guidelines, and regulations (including OSHA/MSHA standards), and properly utilizing the required tools and equipment for each task.</li><li>Report any unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents immediately to management.</li><li>Assist with construction and excavation activities across a range of projects, including treatment plants, water, sewer, and storm drain systems, performing tasks like shoveling, raking, wheelbarrow use, and pipe laying.</li><li>Perform general labor duties as assigned, including digging, spreading, and leveling materials.</li><li>Signal equipment operators to aid the alignment and movement of materials safely and efficiently.</li><li>Operate small power tools such as jackhammers and, as needed, various types of heavy equipment used in utility and road projects. </li><li>Maintain constant visual and communicative contact with co-workers—using hand signals or other means—especially during equipment operation and backing maneuvers.</li><li>Conduct basic servicing and maintenance on equipment; report more serious issues to the Foreman.</li><li>Complete daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, documenting findings according to company policies.</li><li>Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies as required for job duties.</li><li>Assist with the placement, movement, and removal of traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones.</li><li>Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support project success.<br></li></ul>Work Requirements<br><br><ul><li>Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.</li><li>Work is conducted in a safety-sensitive environment, requiring strict attention to safety protocols.</li><li>Must successfully complete a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical examination.</li><li>Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and complete safe driver training as required.</li><li>Willingness to travel and stay away from home when assigned; this includes working with a portable asphalt construction crew.</li><li>Ability to provide necessary documentation to meet I-9 Immigration requirements.</li><li>Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.</li><li>Report to work promptly at the designated start time and maintain reliable attendance.</li><li>Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime.</li><li>Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook.</li><li>Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.</li><li>Demonstrate a positive team spirit and assist others as needed to achieve overall team objectives.</li><li>Candidates must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work environment.<br></li></ul>Education & Experience<br><br><ul><li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li><li>Previous experience with excavation equipment or in construction-related roles is an asset.<br></li></ul>Physical & Work Environment Requirements<br><br><ul><li>Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.</li><li>Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.</li><li>Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.</li><li>Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.</li><li>Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.</li><li>Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.</li><li>Reasonable accommodations provided as necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.<br></li></ul>This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to a variety of construction projects while prioritizing safety and teamwork.
