Technical Writer (Remote Opportunity)
VetsEZ is currently seeking a <strong>Tech Writer</strong> to join a team to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The position will support the Data Migration & Syndication effort within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO).<br><br>The candidate must reside within the continental US.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Coordinates work activities, writes and edits highly complex technical information technology-related documents, including presentations, manuals, reports, and specifications.</li><li> Develop and distribute communications related to core functions, e.g., SDLC quarterly releases, Process/Policy changes, etc.</li><li> Edit documentation for style, clarity, consistency, and adherence to customer guidelines.</li><li> Research highly complex technical concepts to edit policies, procedures, workflows, and manuals and create new technical documents.</li><li> Conducts interviews with various technical staff to gather data for documentation.</li><li> Strategically document, communicate, and train processes to engrain in people, process, and technology culture.</li><li> Evaluates and provides feedback on draft documents and attends documentation reviews.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, computer science, or related discipline.</li><li> 3+ years of relevant technical writing experience</li><li> Ability to interface with technical staff and end-users to understand functional requirements to develop processes and procedures.</li><li> Experience and understanding of good documentation practices and proficiency with core Microsoft software/systems such as Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.</li><li> Experience with Change Management functional, regression, performance, etc.</li><li> Experience with all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), mainly creating the User's Requirements Document and translation into a Functional Requirements Document and Design Document (when applicable).</li><li> Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance/update of technical documents needed for developers to start coding, distribution of final codes, training guides, and physical training for code deployment.</li><li> Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired.</li><li> Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired.</li><li> Ability to obtain a Government clearance.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Security Clearance Requirements<br><br></strong><strong>U.S. Citizenship is required.<br><br></strong><strong>Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.<br><br></strong><strong>Benefits<br><br></strong><ul><li> Medical/Dental/Vision</li><li> 401k with Employer Match </li><li> PTO + Federal Holidays </li><li> Corporate Laptop </li><li> Training opportunities </li><li> Remote Opportunity<br><br></li></ul>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.<br><br>Sorry, we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.
