<p>The starting pay range for this position per hour is $20.50 - $22.50. The full pay range for this position per hour is $20.50 - $34.85</p><p><span><span>Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest. The role of an Assets Protection Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of:</b> </p><ul><li>Leading a security culture, including crisis response, a strong safety environment and crowd management planning, providing support to both guests and team members</li></ul><ul><li>Implementing daily/weekly Assets Protection workload priorities to support business priorities and deliver on goals</li></ul><ul><li>Responding to external and internal theft incidents and preventing future theft</li></ul><ul><li>Implementing strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehending individuals attempting to cause a loss, in accordance with Target policy and leadership’s guidance</li></ul><ul><li>Partnering, educating and supporting store business leaders on operational shortage priorities</li></ul><ul><li>Leading a team of hourly team members, including leveraging skills in interviewing, developing, evaluating and retaining talent</li></ul><p><b>As an Assets Protection Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day most likely will include the following responsibilities:</b> </p><ul><li>Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience</li><li>Ensures every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations</li><li>Actively observes and provides feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments</li><li>Reviews area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, takes action to improve, and aligns team on the right behaviors and execution, celebrates wins, drives results that deliver outcomes and elevates the guest experience. </li><li>Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to our guests. Welcome and engage guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor</li><li>Influence and validate physical security and safety processes; participate in store response and emergency crisis situations; create security plans for in-store events</li><li>Support your leader in educating teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures. </li><li>Develop, coach and lead your team members to elevate their skills and expertise, per direction from your direct leader</li><li>Anticipate staffing needs and support your direct leader to effectively talent plan around a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management</li><li>Identify theft and shortage trends in your store</li><li>Identify shortage risks in key areas and support your direct leader and leaders across the store to develop tactics that will reduce shortage and drive profitable sales</li><li>Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs based on security and theft patterns (this includes early morning/overnight shifts, evening and weekends)</li><li>Develop team schedules and adjust based on security and theft trends with leader validation</li><li>Own the prevention (inclusive of merchandise protection budgeting), identification and resolution of external theft incidents. Resolve theft using good judgement and conducting apprehensions while adhering to policy and procedures</li><li>Initiate, investigate and resolve internal investigations as directed by AP leader in your market and/or your direct leader</li><li>Educate store leadership on merchandise protection best practice and audit execution in partnership with key partners</li><li>Implement and follow up on any operational changes as directed by your direct leader</li><li>Support your direct leader to educate and support store teams on operational shortage priorities</li><li>Order merchandise protection devices as needed to support the minimum standards for your store. Review and manage the allocated budget and adhere to the guidance in the Merchandise Protection Best Practice on Workbench</li><li>Communicate AP priorities to the team, peers and leadership</li><li>Build a relationship of trust and accountability with your leader and Store Director</li><li>Maintain relationships inside and outside Target, including district and store leaders and law enforcement</li><li>Ensure our teams and tactics maintain Target’s reputation</li><li>Collaborate with retail organization partners to analyze industry trends and enhance security for guests and team members</li><li>Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team at the direction of your direct leader</li><li>Support team onboarding and learning, and close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experience</li><li>Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct and compliance; lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment</li><li>Hold team members accountable to expectations set by your direct leader </li><li>Maintain all required training</li><li>Serve as first responder for in-store safety incidents (e.g., security, weather, etc.), executing Target's procedures and best practices</li><li>Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions</li><li>Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences</li><li>Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards in partnership with store leaders, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately</li><li>Execute safety program management routines such as Monthly Safety Meetings/ Observations</li><li>Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests</li><li>Model the execution of physical security processes in order to enhance the instore security culture</li><li>Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including storage and application as directed by best practices</li><li>Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)</li><li>All other duties based on business needs</li></ul><p><b>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR</b> </p><p><b>This may be the right job for you if:</b> </p><ul><li>You enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests that shop our store and fellow team members you work with</li><li>You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success</li><li>You are open to working a variable work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, closing shifts and other peak shopping times)</li></ul><p><b>The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be an Assets Protection Team Leader, but there are a few things you need from the get-go:</b> </p><ul><li>Must be at least 18 years old or older</li><li>High school degree or equivalent</li><li>Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position</li><li>Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred, but not required</li><li>Ability to lead and hold others accountable</li><li>Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed</li><li>Work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently</li><li>Welcoming and helpful attitude</li><li>Effective communication skills</li></ul><p><b>We are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics that we expect:</b> </p><ul><li>Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues</li><li>Interpret instructions, reports and information</li><li>Climb up and down ladders</li><li>Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy</li><li>Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance from others</li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary</li><li>Although the role is full-time, it does not come with a guarantee of 40 hours each week.
