Baggage, Ramp, and Deicing Agents - JFK Airport

• BAGGAGE AGENTS, RAMP DEICING AGENTS, & RAMP AGENTS

Starting Pay: $21.25/hr. (+ $2.40/hr. supplement for each hour worked)

BAGGAGE AGENT - JOB DUTIES:

• Lift baggage and cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. when loading and unloading aircraft, carts, and containers.

• Push and pull loaded and empty carts and containers.

• Couple and uncouple carts and cargo container dollies.

• Ascend and descend jetway stairs while carrying baggage.

• Bend, stoop, and crawl to move and stack cargo in aircraft and containers.

• Stand for extended periods during loading and unloading operations.

• Walk continuously while loading and unloading cargo from pallets, containers, carts, and conveyor belts.

• Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment.

• Drive and operate motorized equipment, including tugs and belt loaders.

• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.

• Operate a computer to enter and retrieve operational data.

• Count baggage and cargo during operations.

• Connect support equipment to aircraft.

• Use signaling devices to communicate with co-workers and flight crews.

• Follow airport and company operational procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

BAGGAGE AGENT - REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Driver's License.

• Ability to work various shifts, including late night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Ability to bend, pull, push, crawl, stoop, and lift 50-70 lbs.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to perform frequent lifting, loading, unloading, and material-handling activities.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines.

DEICING AGENT - JOB DUTIES:

• Perform deicing services on commercial aircraft.

• Inspect aircraft for frost and ice on wings, fuselage, and tail.

• Apply deicing fluids.

• Drive and operate heavy vehicles near aircraft during deicing.

• Work on aerial lifts at heights up to 25 feet or more when deicing aircrafts.

• Track and record usage of deicing fluids.

• Conduct daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles.

• Use headset/radio for communication with ground and flight crews.

• Follow all safety procedures and company protocols.

• Provide additional operational support as needed.

• Adhere to uniform and attendance standards.

RAMP DEICING AGENT - REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Driver's License.

• Ability to work various shifts, including late night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Ability to bend, pull, push, crawl, stoop, and lift 50-70 lbs.

• Experience with heavy vehicle operation preferred but not required.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Basic computer skills and ability to complete online training.


RAMP AGENT - JOB DUTIES:

• Guide aircraft to and from gates.

• Load, unload, and transport baggage and cargo.

• Operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders, tugs, tow tractors, and related equipment.

• Maintain ramp safety and follow all procedures.

• Communicate with flight crews and ground teams.

• Assist in flight on-time performance.

• Perform physically active tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting.

• Lift and move up to 70 lbs. regularly.

• Navigate jetway stairs while handling baggage.

• Read load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.

• Respond to visual and verbal instructions.

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions around aircraft and equipment.

RAMP AGENT - REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Driver's License.
