Job Description Job Description JOB OVERVIEW The Bistro Attendant plays a vital role in the overall success of the Food & Beverage operations. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering an exceptional dining experience through warm, genuine, and personable interactions with our guests. This role is essential to guest satisfaction and must maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment at all times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the welcoming face of the bistro area by greeting each guest with a genuine smile and warm attitude. Provide excellent and friendly customer service at all times. Proactively anticipate and address guest needs to ensure a positive dining experience. Welcome guests as they leave and offer sincere well wishes. Pay attention to guest feedback and promptly communicate it to management. Upsell store items when appropriate to enhance guest experience. Prepare and cook menus items following established recipes and presentation standards. Provide high-quality food and beverages consistently by adhering to all preparation and service guidelines. Assist in preparing items for the next day’s service. Assist in basic food prep and beverage service during downtime as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic environment throughout the bistro area and kitchen. Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly. Ensure the bistro area is tidy at all times; promptly clean up spills and restock as needed. Clean and reset the bistro area at the end of each shift. Ensure the back-of-house (kitchen) is kept as clean and organized. Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols in compliance with health regulations. Monitor stock levels of bistro items and ensure no item drops below the par-level during service. Create and submit a list of low-stock or depleted items to management. Properly receive, organize, and store inventory from vendors. Check and record fridge and freezer temperatures at the beginning and end of each shift; report any irregularities to management. Monitor expiration dates of food products and inform management of approaching or expired items. Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system as required. Support team members with their tasks during slower periods, including light cleaning or food prep. Participate in required training and any pre-opening tasks as requested. Complete all additional duties as assigned by Management. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Must be able to move efficiently within confined spaces and navigate between various areas of the hotel in a timely manner. Ability to manage multiple tasks and transitions between simultaneous functions with composure and efficiency. Strong verbal communication skills; must be able to speak and hear clearly when interacting with guests, supervisors, and team members. Manual dexterity required to safely and effectively operate all necessary kitchen and service equipment. Bilingual ability preferred; basic reading, writing, and math skills required. Must possess or obtain a valid California Food Handler’s Card at the time of hire. Schedule The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required. Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment. Grooming All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/ or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.
