Director of Technology — Insurance & Investments
<strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>The Director of Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization's technology environment, ensuring that technology architecture, applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and digital capabilities support business objectives.<br><br>Within Insurance & Investments, the role may oversee technology supporting insurance platforms, investment and asset-management systems, finance, risk, compliance, customer platforms, and enterprise operations.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Develop and execute the technology strategy and roadmap.<br><br>Lead technology modernization, digital transformation, automation, and innovation.<br><br>Oversee enterprise architecture, applications, infrastructure, cloud, networks, and technology operations.<br><br>Manage technology platforms supporting insurance, investments, finance, risk, and corporate functions.<br><br>Lead cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, and IT controls.<br><br>Establish technology governance, standards, policies, architecture principles, and operating models.<br><br>Oversee ERP, CRM, core insurance, investment-management, financial, and enterprise applications.<br><br>Lead systems integration, APIs, databases, cloud migration, and application modernization.<br><br>Ensure technology resilience, availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.<br><br>Manage major technology programs, implementations, migrations, upgrades, and integrations.<br><br>Manage technology budgets, vendors, outsourcing partners, contracts, and procurement.<br><br>Drive data, analytics, AI, automation, and business-intelligence initiatives.<br><br>Monitor technology KPIs, SLAs, service quality, project delivery, and operational performance.<br><br>Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, cybersecurity, privacy, and financial-services requirements.<br><br>Partner with executive and business leaders to translate business needs into technology solutions.<br><br>Build and lead high-performing technology teams.<br><br>Ideal Candidate Profile<br><br>10–15+ years of progressive technology/IT experience.<br><br>5+ years in Director of Technology, Technology Director, IT Director, Head of Technology, CTO, CIO, or equivalent leadership roles.<br><br>Experience in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, wealth management, or financial services.<br><br>Strong expertise in:<br><br>Technology strategy<br><br>Enterprise architecture<br><br>Digital transformation<br><br>Cloud & infrastructure<br><br>Cybersecurity<br><br>Enterprise applications<br><br>Data & analytics<br><br>IT governance<br><br>Technology risk<br><br>Systems integration<br><br>Experience managing significant budgets, vendors, transformation programs, and multidisciplinary teams.<br><br>Strong C-suite and senior stakeholder engagement.<br><br>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
