Engineering Manager, Agentic Products (Remote US)

Job Summary:

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers building customer-ready AI applications on top of our platform. You'll be responsible for growing a high-performing engineering team, driving execution, and ensuring we consistently deliver AI solutions that solve meaningful customer problems.

This is a player/coach role, with a blend of AI engineering, engineering leadership, technical strategy, and product partnership. You'll work closely with Product, Platform Engineering, and Design to prioritize work, remove obstacles, and help your team ship high-quality applications quickly. You'll also contribute to the technical direction of agentic AI development, helping establish best practices for building reliable, secure, and scalable AI systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building AI solutions
  • Drive planning, execution, and delivery of production-ready agentic AI applications from concept through production.
  • Partner closely with Product and Platform Engineering to prioritize work that delivers measurable customer value.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, rapid iteration, and continuous learning.
  • Define engineering best practices for agentic workflows, tool integrations, evaluations, and production readiness.
  • Balance speed of execution with engineering quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Remove blockers, improve development processes, and build robust AI applications alongside your team
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business problems into engineering priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading engineering teams.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers building customer-facing software products.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI application development, including LLMs, AI agents, MCP, tool calling, workflows, and enterprise integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through ambiguity and rapidly deliver production-quality software.
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to guide architecture and engineering tradeoff discussions.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience partnering closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership.
  • Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineers.
  • Growth mindset with a collaborative, low-ego leadership style.
  • Passion for building inclusive, psychologically safe teams that value ownership and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments with rapid product iteration.
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks, observability, and production monitoring.
  • Experience building secure AI systems, including RBAC/ABAC, audit logging, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience in Rust
  • Exposure to regulated industries such as defense, healthcare, finance, or telecommunications.
Compensation Information
$200,000—$280,000 USD
