Freelance Brand Designer

Mindrift is looking for a highly skilled Brand Designer to join the Tendem project (** and create strong visual identities for real-world brands and products.<br><br>In this role, you'll apply your expertise in brand strategy, visual identity, and design systems to create cohesive, modern, and impactful brand assets. Our mission is to help develop high-quality AI technologies by combining real-world expertise from professionals across the globe with advanced AI development efforts.<br><br><strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>This is a freelance role for a Tendem project. As a Brand Designer, your focus will be on brand asset creation, visual identity, and brand consistency. We need a core specialist dedicated to building a strong visual foundation. You will serve as the architect of the brand identity, modernizing aesthetics and ensuring that all visual touchpoints look cohesive across various mediums using industry-standard design tools.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Develop foundational brand assets, including logos, complete visual identities, and comprehensive color schemes</li><li>Create, systematically organize, and deliver necessary variations of core brand elements</li><li>Act as the strict gatekeeper for brand consistency across all internal and external materials, including pitch decks and social media kits</li><li>Build scalable, long-lasting visual systems that align with modern design standards</li><li>Enforce design quality through cross-platform validation, ensuring brand aesthetics translate flawlessly across both digital and print mediums<br><br></li></ul><strong>How To Get Started<br><br></strong>Apply, pass qualification(s), and start contributing to projects aligned with your expertise — on your own schedule.<br><br><strong>Educational Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>At least 2 years of relevant experience in brand design, graphic design, art direction, or visual communications is desirable</li><li>Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communication Design, or related creative fields is a plus<br><br></li></ul><em><strong>Academic and/or Professional Experience<br><br></strong></em>Candidates must have a strong portfolio heavily focused on brand identity creation, logo design, and comprehensive brand guidelines. We are looking for specialists with a deep understanding of how core branding translates seamlessly across different digital and print mediums. A strategic, detail-obsessed approach and the ability to work independently to build long-lasting visual systems are essential.<br><br><strong>Technical Skills (Essential)<br><br></strong><ul><li>Brand Identity Creation: Expertise in building foundational assets from scratch, including scalable logos, distinct color palettes, and typography systems</li><li>Design Tools: Deep proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma for crafting and managing core design assets</li><li>Cross-Medium Adaptation: Proven ability to translate brand DNA perfectly across varied formats, from digital social media kits to corporate pitch decks and print materials</li><li>Brand System Architecture: Strong organizational skills to develop clear brand guidelines, style guides, and structured asset libraries for wider team use<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>A strategic, detail-obsessed mindset focused on long-term brand equity</li><li>Strong dedication to visual consistency and functioning as a true brand gatekeeper</li><li>Self-directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently and deliver high-quality assets</li><li>Portfolio showcasing branding work (logos, identity systems, guidelines) must be included in the CV</li><li>English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Project time expectations <br><br></strong>For this project, tasks are estimated to require around 10-20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active.<br><br><strong>Compensation<br><br></strong>On this project, contributors can earn up to <strong>$50 per hour equivalent</strong>, depending on their level and pace of contribution.<br><br>Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise.
