<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Job Title: Production Associate</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Shift: 2nd</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Pay: $20hr</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>The Production Associate supports daily operations in a food processing plant by handling materials, assisting with equipment operation, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and sanitation. This role involves working on a production line, performing general labor and assembly tasks, monitoring and recording production data, and ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations. The position requires regular lifting, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Keep flour dusters full and manage rework materials to support continuous production.</li><li>Assemble and move materials as needed to complete tasks such as inspecting, pre-weighing, blending, mixing, and packing.</li><li>Assist equipment operators as necessary to accomplish production tasks and meet performance targets.</li><li>Load raw ingredients onto the production line and unload finished products, ensuring proper handling and placement.</li><li>Inspect packaged finished goods and ingredients to verify quality and compliance with standards.</li><li>Input and track production, safety, and quality data in the Production Reporting System accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Perform detailed cleaning and sanitation of plant equipment to maintain hygiene and food safety standards.</li><li>Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations.</li><li>Support the integrity and ongoing certification of the food safety and food quality system by following established procedures.</li><li>Report any potential or actual food safety and food quality issues and take appropriate action to help prevent them from occurring.</li><li>Evaluate workplace hazards, verify control measures, and follow procedures that promote a safe work environment.</li><li>Work safely at all times and promptly report hazards identified in the work environment.</li><li>Operate and monitor equipment controls, flour systems, and blender recipe systems as required.</li><li>Read and follow work orders to complete production tasks correctly and efficiently.</li><li>Assist machine operators with setup, operation, and changeovers as needed.</li><li>Unload and inspect final products to ensure they meet quality and packaging requirements.</li><li>Perform basic machine operation tasks and support forklift operations if qualified.</li><li>Complete all other duties as assigned to support overall production and plant operations.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience performing general production or general labor tasks in a manufacturing or food processing environment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.</li><li>Ability to perform basic machine operation and assist machine operators with equipment tasks.</li><li>Ability to load raw ingredients and unload finished products safely and efficiently.</li><li>Ability to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</li><li>Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.</li><li>Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively train others.</li><li>Ability to read work documents in English.</li><li>Strong focus on safety and adherence to safety procedures and regulations.</li><li>Good understanding of plant quality requirements and food safety expectations.</li><li>Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).</li><li>Demonstrated good attendance and work history.</li><li>Strong team mentality and ability to work closely with others on a production line.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience as a general production worker inside a food processing plant.</li><li>Experience assisting machine operators in a manufacturing or processing environment.</li><li>Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment, where applicable.</li><li>Familiarity with HACCP principles and food safety systems.</li><li>Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.</li><li>Comfort using production reporting systems or similar data entry tools.</li><li>Ability to maintain composure and accuracy when working under time pressure and frequent task changes.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>Employees have access to a comprehensive total rewards package that supports their health, financial security, and professional growth. There is seasonal exposure to weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. The work environment includes regular exposure to physical risks and hazards such as mechanical equipment, moving machinery, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosion risks, and communicable diseases. The position requires standing and walking throughout the office, warehouse, and plant, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, and frequent reaching, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and use of fine dexterity. Clear vision, hearing, and professional communication with coworkers and others are essential. Personal protective equipment, including bump caps, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection, and other required PPE, is provided and must be used as directed. The work involves frequent time pressures, changing tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, and detailed, exacting work. The schedule may include irregular hours and overtime.
