[Remote] Freelance US Finance Taxonomy Expert
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Uber AI Solutions connects freelancers with Generative AI researchers and is seeking experienced finance professionals for a flexible, project-based collaboration. The Freelance US Finance Taxonomy Expert will develop structured financial taxonomies, classification frameworks, and terminology; review and annotate financial content; and provide feedback to improve finance-specific AI training and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Defining and developing structured taxonomies across finance domains (such as M&A, equity valuation, portfolio construction, and corporate finance)
- Creating classification frameworks, hierarchical structures, and standardized financial terminology to support AI training and evaluation
- Developing taxonomy guidelines and classification criteria to ensure consistency, accuracy, and relevance across financial datasets
- Reviewing, categorizing, and annotating financial content, including financial statements, research reports, investment documents, and market-related information
- Identifying relationships, overlaps, gaps, and inconsistencies within financial taxonomies and recommending improvements
- Guiding data curation and annotation efforts to ensure access to high-quality, structured financial content
- Providing feedback to improve AI performance, accuracy, and relevance for finance-specific taxonomy and classification tasks
Skills
- Finance professionals with 10+ years of professional experience in:
- Investment banking (M&A, capital markets, corporate finance)
- Private equity (deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio management)
- Asset management (portfolio management, investment strategy, quantitative analysis)
- Equity research (company analysis, financial modeling, report writing)
- Financial taxonomy, data classification, financial data management, or related domains
- Strong analytical skills to translate complex financial concepts into clear, structured taxonomies and classification frameworks
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts and developing clear taxonomy guidelines
- Attention to detail in building accurate, consistent, and reliable classification systems
- US-based candidates only

- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, data annotation, or collaboration with technical teams is a plus
