Job Description:

The Specialist for Retail Store will serve as the Brand Champion for all Company Programs. They will work closely with Store Marketing and Retail Services as well as Store PCMs, site GMs and DMs to ensure company policies and procedures are followed and programs driven properly. Tasks will include providing support, training, and development for the operational management staff, ensuring the culture, and working environment is conducive to optimum Team Member productivity, implementing changes to boost efficiency.

They will work with the stores in an assigned region to ensure programs and pricing are in place and that each store achieves maximum sales and margin dollars. They will have the opportunity to work with company leaders to share their vision for how to grow and protect our brand and minimize losses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the brand champion and expert, ensuring brand integrity
  • Plans, implements, and accomplishes successful implementation of the Retail Store Monthly promotions at all stores within their region
  • Represents the company and provides support as needed at various trade shows and conventions
  • Provides feedback to Category Management team on programs and how to better complete
  • Provides suggestions for store flow based on expertise in the Guest flow and experience
  • Works in conjunction with Space Planning and DMs to properly reflow stores
  • Applies category and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and drive innovation in product development as well as marketing initiatives
  • Monitors Team Member turnover and works with Store Management to develop retention strategies
  • Monitors and ensures all training is on target
  • Maintains contact with store managers through phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings as well as in person site visits
  • Is knowledgeable and active in new store system installations and programs
  • Supports management team to achieve targeted EBITDA, sales, margin and shrink
  • Monitor store inventory levels
  • As needed, assist the Loss Prevention Group in assignments
  • Performs other duties as necessary to support the objectives of division and company
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Five plus years of experience in retail/marketing.
  • Strong in Microsoft Excel/Power Point/Word.
  • Excellent planning and execution.
  • Willingness to travel and holds a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Able to lead people through a clear vision, proper training, ongoing development, and positive recognition to unleash the talent within each employee
  • Proficient in planning and analytical skills to create positive financial results always. (e.g. understanding the calculations on the P &L, coverage ratio, budget & expense reports, etc.)
  • Stays current with industry “guidelines” by bench marking competitors, reading convenience store periodicals.
  • Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver information clearly and accurately in responding to questions from groups of managers and to the public.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements This position will be required to lift and carry merchandise items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds and climb a ladder to reach supplies stored in overhead areas as well as to inspect for cleanliness. Must have the ability to stand/walk for up to ten (10) hours/day and sit for periods up to four (4) hours/day. This position will also be required to regularly operate computer equipment efficiently.

Good hand coordination, fine motor skills and manual dexterity will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work within and outside of standard business hours in exterior and interior conditions.

Requires frequent car travel, overnight stays, and air travel. Extensive travel is required which will be around 80% of work schedule. All duties must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
