Student Shuttle Driver (Part Time)
Legacy Academy is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Student Shuttle Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for students in a 15-passenger shuttle vehicle.
This position is responsible for transporting students to and from school, athletic events, extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school-related activities. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for students.
Position Responsibilities
Safely operate a 15-passenger shuttle vehicle along assigned routes and schedules.
Transport students to and from school, athletic events, extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school-related activities.
Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle environment.
Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety requirements, and Legacy Academy transportation policies.
Ensure students safely enter and exit the vehicle.
Maintain appropriate student behavior while students are in the vehicle.
Communicate courteously and professionally with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other staff.
Promptly report maintenance concerns, safety issues, accidents, or other incidents to the Fleet Manager or Operations Director.
Maintain required driver documentation and certifications.
Participate in required safety and transportation training.
Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Valid driver's license appropriate for operating the assigned vehicle.
CDL is not required for this position.
Satisfactory motor vehicle/driving record.
Demonstrated commitment to safe and responsible driving.
Dependable, punctual, and reliable attendance.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when managing student behavior.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow established safety procedures and Legacy Academy policies.
Must successfully complete required background and fingerprint screening, as applicable.
Must successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening/testing, as applicable.
Must meet applicable physical, medical, and other requirements for the position.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required within the timeframe established by Legacy Academy and applicable regulations.
Previous experience transporting children or working with students is preferred.
Driver Safety & Continuing Requirements
Employment and continued authorization to transport students are contingent upon maintaining a satisfactory driving record and meeting all applicable federal, New Mexico, and Legacy Academy requirements.
Legacy Academy may conduct driving-record reviews and other required screenings throughout employment. Drivers must immediately report any change that could affect their eligibility to operate the vehicle or transport students.

Morning student transportation
Afternoon student transportation
Athletic events and extracurricular activities
Field trips and other school-related activities
Occasional afternoon, evening, or weekend transportation
