We focus on reaching families led by Black and/or Latinx women.</p><p>To achieve our mission, we operate client-centered savings and financial coaching programs, deliver training and technical assistance to other practitioners, and shape policy solutions that dismantle barriers to asset building.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program</strong></p><p>Congress created the FSS program in 1990 as an employment and savings program for families in federally subsidized housing. The program combines a powerful savings incentive with service delivery to support residents in reaching their goals. It is the nation’s largest asset-building program for families with low incomes.</p><p>Since 2010, Compass has partnered with public housing agencies and other affordable housing providers to operate an asset-building model for the FSS program — the first nonprofit organization in the country to do so.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About the Job</strong></p><p>We are looking for a results-oriented, highly organized, and collaborative individual to provide programmatic and operational support on our Programs Team. This associate will support initiatives core to the Programs Team’s field-building work, provide day-to-day coordination for our online training and community-building platform, assist with the development of training and technical assistance offerings to housing partners, and support the planning and execution of our National FSS Conference. The Training & Technical Assistance Associate will also play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient Programs team operations and will support the delivery of high-quality services to Compass’ partners and stakeholders. We believe in harnessing our strengths to find joy in what we do and in doing this work as a team, and to bring out the best in each other.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support the delivery of Compass’ training and technical assistance offerings to partners:<ul><li>Maintain knowledge of the organization’s core FSS and financial coaching programs. </li><li>Assist with the development of FSS training materials to promote best practices and client-centered programming.</li><li>Coordinate and lead training sessions with partners: facilitate scheduling, manage Zoom meetings, and lead communications to training attendees. </li><li>Assist with the collection of feedback on the impact of training and technical assistance.</li><li>Assist with tracking the impact of new training initiatives and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul></li><li>Assist with the creation and management of content for Compass’ proprietary online learning platform, FSS Link:<ul><li>Upload resource content, ensuring it remains up to date, working closely with other Compass team members as needed to make content updates and develop new materials.</li><li>Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team to create marketing materials and/or direct messages to FSS Link users focused on increasing their awareness of services and support on the platform.</li><li>Respond to posts on the discussion board.</li><li>Assist with and/or lead monthly webinars, quarterly trainings, and “Community Conversations” for FSS Link members.</li><li>Provide updates to the FSS Link community about new content and training opportunities.</li></ul></li><li>National FSS Conference planning and execution: Under the leadership of the Director of Training and Technical Assistance, support the planning and execution of a leading national conference for operators of FSS programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: researching potential speakers, supporting agenda creation, managing communication with attendees and speakers, etc.</li></ul><p>Other projects and duties in line with Compass’ Strategic Plan and operating goals.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications and Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Commitment to Compass’ mission and passion for working with families with low incomes</li><li>Cultural humility: openness to and respect for others’ cultures, identities, and lived experiences</li><li>Some knowledge of and familiarity with the FSS program, including program policy and financial coaching topics</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively, and demonstrate sound judgment.</li><li>Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with partners and staff across the Compass team.</li><li>Strong organizational and execution skills; detail-oriented with the ability to complete work accurately, efficiently, and on time.</li><li>Ability to simplify and clearly present complex concepts in training materials</li><li>Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to creatively problem solve, prioritize, create actionable plans, and deliver tangible outcomes in a growing organization.</li></ul><p>Preferred</p><ul><li>Knowledge of the Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program</li><li>Experience and/or educational background in instructional design, learning experience design, or curriculum design.</li><li>Marketing and communications experience</li></ul><p>This job description is not intended to provide a comprehensive listing of all duties or responsibilities. We’ll promote your professional growth and development by providing access to a competitive benefits package that include but are not limited to</li><li>Healthcare: medical, dental, vision: Compass covers up to 80% of employee premiums and 80% for dependents. There is no waiting period to enroll in health insurance.</li><li>Paid time off: Employees receive up to 36 Wellness days and 8 holidays per calendar year, plus the final week of the calendar year off and Fridays in August as organizational wide holidays.
